Boston Dynamics opened the first phase of its Robotics Metaplant Application Center inside HMGMA, where Atlas humanoid robots are now training on automotive-parts logistics and sequencing.

Why it matters

The center moves Atlas training into the Savannah-area manufacturing campus itself, creating a local testbed for robot work that Boston Dynamics intends to scale through Hyundai and Kia plants.

What to watch

Boston Dynamics says RMAC operations will move into a new HMGMA building about ten times larger in 2027; Atlas component-assembly applications are planned by 2030.
