Savannah will consider a $2.73 million construction contract October 22 for infrastructure at the former Coastal Empire Fairgrounds. The proposed work includes a sewer pump station, about 7,500 feet of force main and Meding Street improvements to support the first housing phases of Legacy Savannah. The agenda recommends approval, but no Council vote or construction start had occurred by this review.

Why it matters

The public infrastructure would serve the initial housing phases and future residential, recreational, commercial and community uses planned for the former fairgrounds.
