Mercy Housing says a two-year renovation of Heritage Place was completed in summer 2026. The work improved roofs, windows, masonry, sidewalks and apartment interiors, including kitchens, plumbing and HVAC. A September 23 rededication celebrated the community’s 88 affordable homes. The City’s 2022 financing plan included a $560,000 Savannah Affordable Housing Fund loan. The community incorporates the historic Charity Hospital and Florance Street School in Cuyler-Brownsville.
